I met Mr Lee again last month because of my Contax 50mm f1.7 lens in which I got from Ebay. He looks the same as before , but the big difference is he is shooting in digital rather that analogue, and now he just only repairs the mechanical cameras, eg. Leica, Hasselblad, Rolleiflex and their lenses.

In 1948, Mr Lee started camera and watch repair works with his brothers at Wen De Rd. in Canton and became a camera technician in a camera equipment & accessory company. He kept working his own camera repair business since he retired in 1982.

Mr Lee

He loves camera and mechanism. He bought three big toys in 1953, a Leica M3, an Omega watch and a gramophone. Unfortunately he threw his gramophone away before the Chinese culture revolution. Mr Lee met western culture when he was young, other then the camera and photography, he also enjoys classical music and violin so much, now he has owned a few famous violins  and will not sell them as treasure.

He told me a lot about the mechanism and experience  from rangefinder to TLR cameras and lenses, now he prefers shoot digitally. He is brilliance and is also a legendary of Chinese camera repair industry.
