For most film makers, it’s common that previously using a HDMI or SDI cable to connect their camera to a client monitor, however in some situations the cable is not convenience for R&G or gimbal shooting. Now a wireless video transmission system should be the best solution for feeding video.

The Hollyland Moma 400s Pro is a compact, lightweight unit that transmit FHD video  wirelessly. It does have both HDMI and SDI inputs. The spec shows the latency is 0.1s, but I found the SDI has a bit more latency than HDMI.

The TX and RX both are powered by  either F-970 battery, 5V USB-C and DC-IN by a AC adapter. Interestingly when using battery or DC, its USB-C port can output 5v for using other accessories.  I did try that 5V USB-C can power up a 15 inch portable LCD monitor successfully (May be less than 1A DC current.

The highest image quality is 12mb/s which is pretty good. I couldn’t find any big notable difference of  4K image quality on a 15 inch 4K portable monitor by using a HDMI cable (4k) and the 400s Pro(FHD), Awesome!

I did test a 7800Amh third party F970 battery to power up the RX and a 15 portable LCD monitor (power from a USB A port on that same F970 battery) simultaneously for 210 mins without any problem. For more running time, a V lock battery would be other best choice, just need a extra D-Tap to DC cable.

Conclusion, The Hollyland Mars/Moma 400s Pro is a affordable, compact, lightweight wireless system, less latency, and easy to use, however the power buttons need to improve to suit a big finger….Looking forward to their 4k version in the future.
